World No Tobacco Day-2022- Tobacco – Threat to Environment
The event was culmination of a month-long campaign on collection of cigarettes and bidi butts preceding the World No Tobacco Day-2022 event. The event highlighted the public health threat posed by rampant smoking in public places and the cigarette butts and bidi butts thrown in public places in Bangalore city. The state pollution control board was invited to address the issue. As a follow up to the event the Pollution Control Board has formulated guidelines for dealing with the issue and started holding discussions with the stakeholders.
